Hideout Theatre is an award nominated theatre company that aims to create bold AND innovative work
Hideout Theatre was formed in 2021 by a group of eight graduating actors studying at the Guildford School of Acting.
Initially brought together to devise a piece for their end-of-year scratch season, the showcase was unfortunately canceled due to COVID-19. However, this only hardened their resolve to persevere in performing the fledgling play and nurturing the creatively electrifying dynamic within the group, and Hideout Theatre was born.
Established at the height of the pandemic, Hideout was founded at a time of great creative and interpersonal restriction. This necessitated an artistic duty to push against these constraints and tell stories brimming with ambition and scope in a bid to restore what had been lost over the lockdowns.
Hideout Theatre's first production, "The Players of Dieudoné," debuted at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre in London and was met with outstanding reviews and award nominations. It currently sits as one of the top three comedy plays for the London Pub Theatre Awards.
in 2022, Hideout Theatre entered a rebranding phase with the appointment of two Artistic Directors, a new logo, website redesign, and ready to make its mark on the industry.
We aim to challenge ourselves with the work we make, to deliver shows that provoke, and to create experiences that stay with you long after leaving the theater.
